
Nursing and Midwifery CouncilThe Nursing and Midwifery Council establish standards of education, training, conduct and performance for nursing and midwifery and to ensure those standards are maintained, thereby safeguarding the health and wellbeing of the public. The Fitness to Practise (FtP) Directorate processes allegations of impairment of fitness to practise made against nurses and midwives on grounds including misconduct, lack of competence and ill health.
The overriding purpose of FtP proceedings is to safeguard the health and wellbeing of the public. Listed below are the various Panels that consider and adjudicate on complaints made to the NMC.
