Divorce as a Petitioner
We offer a fixed fee quality service for uncontested divorce and we can take care of the process from start to finish at a fixed price to give peace of mind when planning the cost of separation.
Our fees for an uncontested divorce are £700 + VAT and court costs at the time of issue. This service will include gathering all relevant details from you, correspondence with other parties involved and preparing and filing all of the necessary paperwork with the court in order to obtain your divorce. Access to legal advice face to face, by e-mail and telephone will be provided throughout by a qualified lawyer.
In detail fees include:
- Gathering information from you to prepare your Divorce Petition;
- Where appropriate, completion of the Statement of Arrangements for Children;
- Making sure your spouse has received the Petition and returned the acknowledgement to court to say that they accept a divorce should be granted;
- Preparing the paperwork to apply for the next stage called The Request for Directions for Trial;
- Notify you of the date that a District Judge will check the paperwork to confirm whether you have grounds for a divorce;
- Apply for the final stages to dissolve the marriage – Decree Absolute.
If any additional costs are likely to be incurred as a result of unforeseen circumstances that arise during the process we will not proceed without agreeing those costs with you before additional work is undertaken and will give you a best estimate as to those additional costs.
